Rethinking the contemporary office means thinking in terms of a New Humanism in which human being and his needs are the center of the design intent. Our approach is based on the idea that the work environment has a significant impact on the quality of the work itself and our life in general. Therefore, it is important to maximize the spaces dedicated to green areas and well-being, highlighting the innovative, aesthetic and functional characteristics of the common areas (Hall, Congress Center, Library, Cafeteria) and the amenities (Gymnasium, Parking, etc. ..).

Well-being is also the result of a correct functional organization: in fact, the areas dedicated to the offices seek an optimal solution to enhance flexibility and be able to accommodate the maximum number of workspaces, shared areas and spaces for professional growth. The workspaces are the beating heart of the building, experienced during everyday life and designed to be pleasant and comfortable even after many working hours. Well-being in this sense is the result of particular attention to acoustics, lighting, ergonomics and, more generally, to safety. Beyond aesthetics, we look for functionality. The project is based on 2 design pillar, simplicity and identity. Our primary design goal has been to work with the end user’s mindset of researching a sense of place and belonging. Working with the modular system of the structural grid and the façade elements, we have provided a large number of potential combinations.

To define and give dynamicity to the building side facing the Ring road, we sculpted the volume at ground floor according to the client’s request and modelled the upper floors as several ribbons overlapped. Due to the south orientation of the building, the arrangement of the ribbons is designed to avoid a direct exposition to the sun rays, reflection and glare. This means an energy-saving during the hot season and a better comfort into workspaces. The dynamism of the façade, apart from creating interesting lights and shadows effect on the elevations, gives the chance to accommodate several balconies that can be used as recreational and social gathering spaces.

In order to control and minimize the cost of construction, the design is based on a Modular system which includes:

  • modular structural grid;
  • modular façade components;
  • modular office layout solutions;
  • modular bathroom solutions;
  • prefab and pre-instalment solutions.

Moreover, we have declined the same solution into different design options for both concepts.
